Bright

Months ago I discussed how I used to never wear much color - it was black, greys and maroons. While it made getting dressed every day easy, it was also boring. I've been making an effort to expand my closet with versatile pieces that bring a little life back into my closet. Since seeing this picture, I've  been itching to try more red and purple together. It's a bit bright, but it sure does shake up a gloomy Tuesday.

I could sparkle up your eye

The first time I saw Lana del Ray, it was on SNL and I had the same reaction I did when Robyn performed: who is this girl and why is she on my television. The swaying, the lips, the clothes...I just did not know what to do with her.

Now I know: her music is the perfect soundtrack for a rainy day. I can't stop listening.

How cute are these leaf bracelets? My mom is one of the most fashionable people I know, but not in the sense that she spends a lot of money on clothing. The best advice I ever received from her was to mix high end pieces with the more inexpensive items in your closet...which is why my Tiffany & Co bracelet looks right at home next to my F21 bangles.
