Today I was at the shipping dock, which is in a different part of the building than I work in. A man I occasionally work with was also there and asked if where I work is cold enough to warrant a scarf. It's a silly question to have to ask someone in August, but the room I sit in IS really cold. Hence the scarf. It looks a bit silly coming out of a lab coat though...

Nailed It! Giveaway

I love the idea of chevron nail art, but after spending several hours on my last attempt I knew there had to be an easier way. After participating in Mani Monday for several weeks, I noticed these awesome manicures with chevrons and knew I had to get some of my own. I purchased a sheet of chevrons and a sheet of bows from  Made by Munchie's Mama and I'm so excited about the way it turned out!

My Blue Arms

Yesterday I was reading my usual go-to blogs, and I saw that Jill over at the Good Life had a post with an Old Navy shirt in it that I own so I was inspired to wear it again. I love the pattern and how it fits (its actually long enough in a regular size!). Then today I was at Old Navy looking for a dress to wear for my brother's graduation this weekend (I ended up getting this one - only $17!), I took off my shirt while in the dressing room, and remembered why I don't wear this shirt more often...it turns my arms blue! Whoops...

Also, how great is this ring? My mom passed it along to me after it had been sitting in her jewelry box for a while. Its straight up from the 80's but I'm glad to see that some things actually transcend decades (unlike neon and puffy sleeves, which can gladly stay in the 80's).

Starry Night

Nothing too crazy for work today but cardigans are a reliable staple in my wardrobe so they are what I grab for in my (every.single.morning) rush.

I have a slight obsession with stars/the universe. If it weren't for my terrible physics skills I would love to become an astronaut. Given my lack of math skills, starry manicures are about as close as its going to get. I only used 1 layer of Midnight Cami so it had more of a swirl to the look...

This is my first time participating in Everybody, Everywear and I'm so excited since this month's theme is Nautical. Its like it was meant to be, since I live for anything Nautical themed. I used this opportunity to recreate my nail design from a few weeks ago into an outfit. Not a lot of things I like more than stripes, reds and blues. Are you participating in EBEW? Chevrons and Bows

I've wanted to do a chevron pattern on my nails for a while now, and I tried 3 different ways to do that. Striping tape was the only way I figured out how to do it. I cut up the pieces individually and stuck them on. I'm really happy about the way it turned out!

Now I want to "invent" Chevron nail striping tape....how does one go about that? #MillionDollarIdea
